TAKAMATSU PLATING MEXICANA Company Profile

The technology of brilliance, now at the cutting edge.

Takamatsu Plating has established a subsidiary, "TAKAMATSU PLATING MEXICANA," in Mexico as part of its further business expansion, building on the experience and knowledge accumulated through its plating operations at its headquarters. In Mexico, we aim to deliver our technology not to consumer products such as mobile phones, which have been our mainstay, but to the automotive industry. Currently, automobile manufacturers from around the world are entering Mexico and are working on establishing systems to produce vehicles locally. These vehicles require plated parts, and there are not many companies capable of providing high-quality plating processing locally. To meet the demand for plating from these local companies, we have evolved. We have introduced plating methods and types that we have not previously engaged in and have established a system to provide the plating required locally. In Mexico as well, we will respond to customer needs with the spirit of our corporate motto, "Creativity and Innovation." 【Business Activities】 ■ Surface treatment of automotive parts and related components (zinc, nickel) All other operations related to the above *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Improvement of Cold and Heat Repetition Resistance of Resin-Plated Products with a Bias Toward Meat

Due to having a consistent production system (molds, molding, plating processing), it is possible to consider and implement total solutions.

We would like to introduce a case where we solved the issue by improving the cold and heat cycle resistance of thick-walled resin plating products. The problem was that decorative chrome plating was applied to PC+ABS, but the coefficients of thermal expansion of the metals that make up the decorative chrome plating—copper, nickel, and chromium—are significantly smaller compared to PC+ABS. As a result, the plating film could not withstand the stress when temperature was applied, leading to the occurrence of cracks. We proposed improving the shape of the stress concentration points. As a result, the cold and heat cycle resistance was enhanced, allowing us to mass-produce and deliver high-quality products, thereby ensuring safety in the market and gaining trust from our customers. [Case Overview (Partial)] ■ Issues - Decorative chrome plating of thick-walled resin parts, which are touched by hand in automotive components, was being mass-produced by another company, but cracks appeared in the plating in the market, necessitating countermeasures. - We wanted to improve cold and heat cycle resistance as a countermeasure against cracks. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
